Strengthening Learning Stories: Making Learning Visible

This course will provide participants with information and facilitated conversations around the strengthening of documentation.

Aspects covered will include:
  • Understanding the features and purposes of sociocultural assessment;
  • Outlining the distinct features of learning stories in relation to traditional observation and assessment methods;
  • Understanding and incorporating learning dispositions and behaviours;
  • Pedagogical documentation: Striving to make learning visible (and learning processes) visible The use of narrative, photographs and other tools;
  • Sharing, writing and presenting learning stories;
  • Opportunities and possibilities: Where to next?
Participants will:
  • Be able to describe the features of Learning Stories and sociocultural assessment methods;
  • Be able to describe and refer to a number of learning dispositions and behaviours;
  • Know how to use and apply narrative as a tool to make children’s learning visible within documentation.
